Hey all! Just joined today, and yes already introduced myself.

I've been flying my Syma X8W for a while now and I am almost getting bored of the lack of power and lack of brushless motors or any readily available upgrades for that matter.

All that aside, I want to make a "sleeper quad" (badass internals, crappy shell) and to do that I want to replace all of my internals with either DJI Phantom parts, or fpv racing quad parts. The trouble I surmise would be, is the mounting of the 'hotter' motors on the stock frame.

I'll be modifying my quad slowly, and for every step I'll include a YouTube video and link it to my profile here.

ANY input or help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Well bad news, have to wait on USPS. For some reason my fpv kit is 2,160 miles in the wrong direction.

Seeing as one standard DJI type motor weighs more than all 4 of the Symas I foresee lots of trouble. Frames these days are dirt cheap.

This larger one has a built in power distribution board.
