Which drone?

Sorry to be such a damn noob, but we all have to start somewhere, right? So I'm going to start here, since I recognize that you guys know a lot more than I do about this.

    I'm looking for a drone/quad that can:

    - Follow me while I'm biking through a park.
    - Not hit trees.
    - Hover near me when I stop.
    - Carry a smartphone.. and perhaps other peripherals.

I don't care at all about cameras. I don't really want to control it myself. I just want my little buddy drone to follow me round. Bonus points if it looks cool.

Does such a drone exist? How much will it cost me?

Hmmm...the problem here is that any drone with OA (obstacle avoidance) is going to be expensive AND have a nice camera. After all, why would most people want something to follow them and not take a picture or video?

Also, obstacle avoidance is far from perfect.

I would say to do your homework and look at the following....

    1. Yuneec Breeze
    2. Zerotech Dobby
    3. DJI Mavic Pro

#3 has the best obstacle avoidance.

Like webman said obstacle avoidance is far from perfect. I have a DJI P4 and the obstacle avoidance only works for the front and bottom. The Mavic would be slightly cheaper but the P4 has a better camera. When I bought my P4 I thought I'd be using all the neat features, but for the most part I just fly it with just the basic controls. My first serious drone was a Chroma, which might be a good choice for you. It doesn't have obstacle avoidance, but it does have Follow Me and is $500 cheaper than the Mavic, P4 or the Yuneec.
