My U829 got away (out of range) a few weeks ago. When it was returned the Left rear motor wouldn't run. Does anyone know how to determine the defect--Motor or Motor Driver (in this case integral with the receiver). I suspect the copter got into a bush and stalled the prop while the motor continued to try to drive it. But I really don't know for sure.
Wouldn't you just replace it with this? http://www.amain.com/rc-drones/udi-r-c-arm-assembly-w-motor-gear-white-ccw-udiu829-11/p443471? With these toy quads I usually buy one of each (motors) as spares just to have around. You need to have the right one in terms of clockwise or counter. If you really needed to test it you could tie or weight it down and check the voltage to that motor as compared to others - or if you had another similar voltage motor around you could strip the wires back on the UDI and connect it to see if it spins.
