Hello everyone, Today is Monday, Oct. 26. I am ready to buy a quad for aerial video and photos. I am in the real estate business and plan to use it personally. I am ready to spend in the $800-$1200 range. I am looking at the Phantom 3 Standard and the Typhoon G or Q500. I need simplicity, and preferably RTF out of the box. And of course FPV, return home feature and high quality video. I am not interested in trick flying, etc. Can you recommend other models in this price range and features? I am open to suggestions. Thank you very much for reading this and your feedback.
All in all I think the P3 will give you the most for your money. The P3S is $699 so fits in at the lower end of your budget, even with a second battery. The Phantom 3 Advanced gives you a more solid FPV quality and range and a better camera and GPS, etc - for about 1K. All in all, I think that bird is the most for the money. There really isn't anything else reliable in that price range. In terms of 1K camera/gimbal Quadcopters, there are basically the Phantoms with about 90% of that market and the Q and the chroma (basically the same birds) with 7% and the other 3% some minor players (not worth looking at, IMHO). One of our guys is reviewing the standard right now - you can find his part 1 on the front page. We previously reviewed the P3 and that is what I use for my everyday machine.
Thanks Webman....I was thinking that the P3 might fit my budget because I had noticed the Standard at a special price. $1k would certainly be do-able. Anything I should be aware of or pay attention when ordering?
Just an extra battery - and dig around for a case. You can find them from $50 to $250+ Of course you need a device to run it with also - perhaps you have something already... Here are some case suggestions: http://forum.dji.com/thread-28826-1-1.html
Your smartphone or tablet - DJI lists the compatible devices. It comes with the remote but it's your smart device that runs the DJI Go app and does FPV, camera control , etc.
Ok, gotcha. I knew that. I misunderstood what you were saying. I have both smartphone and tablet, Android. Thanks.
