Hello everyone, I've been doing a lot of research as of late to get into flying drones and I've hit a wall that I can't seem to get around. I've lined up all the parts I will most likely need to build a quadcopter but I am confused about this ESC and DEC business. My build right now has a Acro Naze 32 with Afro Power distribution board, Cobra 2204 2300kv, and Rotorgeeks RG20 ESC. On the Rotogeeks RG20 ESC it has a bold note stating "the RG20 is a BEC-less design. You will need another power source for your flight control board and any other 5v equipment". So to my understanding, the Afro Power distribution board gets its power from the power supply/battery and the ESC connect to the Afro Power distribution board, the Acro Naze 32, and the Cobra motors. So what does it mean by the Acro Naze will need another power source and how do you do that? Thanks
Many PDBs are simply a place to unify the wiring. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RC-Multi-Tri-Copter-Power-Battery-ESC-Connection-Board-Distribution-/221782575886?hash=item33a3458b0e:g:lOYAAOSwajVUT5E~ Others include a specific 5V output and sometimes a 12V output. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CC3D-5V-12V-BEC-LED-PCB-PDB-Power-Distribution-Board-For-Mini-QAV250/391345160581?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D35852%26meid%3D3aa389a034f34dfaba6aacb3b256c1e7%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D281943282173 If you have the first type you can get one of these, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hobbywing-3A-Switch-Mode-UBEC-5V-6V-Max-5A-Lowest-RF-Noise-US-/231662065111?hash=item35f02295d7:g:CbUAAOSwDNdV2D3y
