Unless you are in a gambling mood, wait until it's on the market and used by many people before you invest in one. The chances of a few dudes getting it right out-of-the-box is about zero. If you want an idea of the difficulty of developing a reliable quad, I'd point you to two situations: 1. RC Logger - this company consists of German engineers as well as others who are in China to source and do quality control (in other words, more resources than plexi). They announced a very simple small drone at the beginning of 2013 for release in April 2013. As of today, over a year later, the units are still buggy (but less buggy then before) and the many buyers find themselves buying two or three and rebuilding them with new frames and other parts to get something reliable. 2. 3DR - This company has quite a few engineers and uses open-source controllers (so many others work on the brains). They have received many millions of dollars in investment and have top-notch management. Yet their consumer drone has still not nearly made it to the simplicity and reliability of DJI's. It all depends on how much of a pioneer you want to be. Budget matters too.

Plexidroen is a scam, they advertised a March timeline right through until a moment ago, whilst having updated the customers with a September at the earliest timeline. Continuing to make sales under a April/March guise. SCAM. They delete our comments and insult us. They even ban our IP from their forum site!

Well, given the history and what I think is involved....my opinion is they are unlikely to ever deliver exactly what they promised...in terms of what it can do, etc. I think they are probably deluged with refund requests at this point and trying to save the ship from sinking. If the question is "would I invest in this company and/or its products or tell a family member or friend to do so"..the answer is a big no. It's my opinion that building a drone or a drone company is much harder than it seems and that only a few will succeed.
Win! Looks like I will be receiving a full refund! Although I do love the ideas of the PlexiDrone... You are right about the possibility of success unfortunately. ON another note. I feel that the DJI Inspire's idea of creating 360 degree unobstructed vision is a better concept for longevity and durability opposed to the PlexiDrone flimsy pivoting landing gear.
Hi Everyone! The funding of Plexidrone is the first I've ever done, and unfortunately looks like I want to get a refund on it. How is the process that you guys went through to get the full refund? Anyone can help me out? Or do I just go to their Indiegogo page and request for the refund? Thanks
Sorry for the late response RITZCVEGA. As for getting a full refund. I hope you have a Chase... Step 1: Have an in depth conversation with DreamQii Customer service team (info@dreamqii.com) Amy helped me. -Be kind -Be affirmative -Get them to agree to a full refund (SAVE THIS INFO) With my experience they told me after agreeing to get a refund, it was not possible through DreamQii's Organization. They will tell you that the refund must go through Indiegogo. This is where having Chase is killer. Step 2: Dispute the Charge with your Bank(keep it vague, let them figure it out). With Chase they will credit you back instantly. Then Chase(or your bank) will start an investigation. Indiegogo will then contact you about the charge back. Confirm with them that you have not acquired any product form DreamQii and demand a refund. This is where your previous conversation with there customer service team can be of use, as proof. Then its just a waiting game. Consequently, DreamQii might be coming up on a huge lawsuit in regards to pawning there problems off on Indiegogo.
With all of the scam concerns aside, if this drone makes it as a viable product, I think it's got all of the features an on the go videographer would want. However, that little alarm system when something gets in its way is a little funny. Could use a telemetry system.
I have seen the product, I think you idea is very good, but develop a good drone is difficult, it has many professional problems need to be solved, I think it is good.
