I'm new to the drones, I have several other rc vehicles, anyway my wife got me the small DX2 drone from Sharper Image, and pretty quickly I need to replace one of the motors, ( yes my fault) I called but the parts from mfg won't be available until 3rd week Dec. Anyone know if or where I can get replacement motors for this? Thanks
I took a quick look - but didn't find what I want. Here's the usual deal. These drones are private labeled...made by a typical Chinese toy maker and then labeled or SI or another company. What you need to do is find out which company! You usually can do this by digging around some of the popular sites like: http://www.tmart.com/RC-Quadcopters-202gallery/ or GearBest. If you can do that, then you can likely find parts for yours. The other way is to remove the motor and measure it and/or look for markings, etc. There are probably only a few sizes of most of these motors - and then CW and CCW. Good luck - I'll keep digging but if you have time see if you can find something that looks exactly like it.
Thanks, I did pull the motor but there are no markings on it, I looked at some on ebay that looked very similar but it's hard to tell if they're an exact match so I didn't want to order without being sure, I'll check around on the sites you suggested, thanks
Drones by Aukey seem to be very close in looks - they may be the OEM. These motors are usually measured in diameter. Example - these are 4 x 6 mm https://www.amazon.com/Hubsan-Quadcopter-Motor-Motors-H111-03/dp/B00YP7L2R4 If you get the same size motor as you have and the proper CW, CW (clockwise, counter), it should work.
Ok, I fixed the problem with my dx2, I bought a dx3, I already like it better, it is bigger and easier for me to fly. But my problem/ question now is, when I try to watch videos from it they only play all snowy and jumbled, the still pictures show up fine but not the videos. Any suggestions? Thanks
