Got a cheap VR Drone and I'm looking to move up. Best Buy has the 3DR Solo Drone on sale for $299. It comes with extras like an extra battery, 3DR Solo Gimbal and 2 extra blades. I'm looking at this option because I already have a GoPro3+ Hero and seems like a great option for $300. The other option I'm looking at is the DJI Phantom 3 Standard($499). Let me know what you guys think of the 3DR Solo.
Don't buy the Solo unless you like to fiddle and hack. If you actually want to take aerial photos and videos, the Phantom 3 Standard is probably your best bet. You can get a Refurb with full warrant from DJI pretty cheap - I think $379. http://bit.ly/2ec04ec
I did order the 3DR Solo from Best Buy web site but the next day they have the DJI Phantom 4 on sale for $899 so I changed my mind and got that. My 3Dr Solo order will cancel if I don't pick it up. Now I just need to get a Ipad Mini for my P4. I'll use my Samsung S5 until then. I'm just going to do a few test flights around my house.
