I made a short video showing the workings of one of the LiPo testers - I am going to keep one of these on my larger quads so I can locate them if I lose them in the weeds, etc. These are sold under various brand names and for prices from as low as $3 to as high as $12 - I suspect many of them are the same unit, perhaps with a different case. In operation, you simply plug the balance plug from the battery into the prongs - then set the alarm voltage. I set mine up as high as it would go - 3.8v per cell. I'll report back after I fly it if it tends to go off before the other warnings built into the quadcopter software.
Thanks for the information. I can see the utility of one of these little gizmos. That flashing light is certainly bright enough. I can never hear those audible alarms due to age related deafness.
