Need some help here. I've been flying a udi 818a for quite some time and find it's a bear to fly but I have since learned and say I'm a pretty good pilot. Took some nice video with it and the camera seems to be ok. I'm looking to move on to something a little more substantial but not quite yet ready for a $1000+ unit. What would you guys recommend. I would love to have something that is a little more stabile in the air for starters and the ability to lift a decent camera. Thank you!
I didn't see a firm budget, but in terms of units which are really stable, that would be units with GPS, compass and altitude hold (barometer). At the lowest end - yet very capable - are the Blade 350qx (the older model is often on sale for $350 with basic TX) and the DJI Phantom FC40 ($499, but deals can be found if you wait around or look around). If you want to spend less and get much less, you could go for the WL Toys v262 or the newer models of the same bird and hang a Mobius on them - but the wind will carry it away if you go too high.
