I am looking into buying a drone and need some advice.
I am a Landscape Architect and want a drone to take still photos of my sites that I can put into CAD to create site plans and use for marketing so the images need to be good quality.
Someone suggested the Phantom 3, but I work solely on Windows and from what I see you need iOS or Android device to operate it.
Does anyone have any good advice for me. I am a complete novice here and don't really want to spend time building a drone.
My perfect situation would be something like the Phantom 3 that I could hook up my HP tablet to which is running windows 10. My phone is windows too, or something that has a controller with a screen.
The camera will need have good resolution and be able to shoot straight down as well to give Orthogonal imagery for mapping purposes.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think the Phantom 3 is calling your name.
You can buy a refurb Nexus tablet for about $100 to run it........
Here are a couple example images (downsized).

I know there are some 3rd party mapping programs but I am not familiar with them. You will have to do some research to make certain you can get what you need.
Let us know what you find out!

Note- in general you could save money and get the P3 Advanced or even Standard as the still resolution is the same.

Thanks for the info, I'm convinced on the Phantom 3. From what i have read it is relatively easy to learn to fly without completely destroying it, yet it will still give good results.
The Analist group is intriguing too, I am an AutoCAD professional as well so this could be a very useful connection.
I am in NZ so getting a second hand Nexus can be a little difficult at any price. so may be a problem
Would any android tablet do? http://www.priceme.co.nz/Laser-MID-1028-10-0/p-891289569.aspx
What would be your must haves in a tablet? I am also going overseas shortly so would be good to know what deals to look out for.
