I have a Flamewheel F450 with 2212/920KV motors and 25/12.5 props. I'm close to the weight limit and wondering if there is a better motor/prop combination which will provide more lift (at the expense of duration maybe)? Any thoughts?
No. That's the Graupner size ref in mm. They are 10" x 5". I have since done some work on ecalc and switched them for Graupner 11" x 5" and an overlander 6250mAh 3S pack. That actually gets me around 12 minutes of hover/flight and OK performance. AUW = 1.97Kg (includes GoPro Session5 and 3-axis gimbal, which corresponds pretty accurately to the ecalc result. If you have ecalc you can see the details here: https://www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.php?ecalc&lang=en&cooling=good&rotornumber=4&config=flat&frame=450&tiltlimit=90&weight=282&calc=sum&elevation=500&airtemp=20&qnh=1013&batteries=0&battcap=6250&battri=0.0064&battv=3.7&battccont=35&battcmax=60&battweight=140&chargestate=6&s=3&p=1&battdisc=0.85&esc=max_30a&motor=dji&acci=0.4&accweight=825&type=22|2212-920&gear=1&propeller=graupner_e_prop&diameter=11&pitch=5&blades=2&project=F450
Lol. It's so I can hang the gimbal and camera underneath and have the legs and props out of the view.
How is your CG with the camera pushed forward, are you compensating by moving the battery back? BTW I'm not knocking it.
