basicly i have no idea what parts i should use , i have a few quads and im wanting to build my own but im on a budget ... 120$ not looking for anything fancy just somthing that has a good amout of power and range
Honestly I do not think that you can go far on a $120 budget with a build. I will do a very basic run down of costs for just basic and decent, not the best components and without the ancillary stuff: Frame- $30, Flight controller- $30, 4 Props- $12 you will break props so add 4 more now it's $24, 4 ESC's $40, 4 motors- $48, Lipo Battery- $20, Servo wires and a breakout cable to power everything- $10. That does not include maybe a power distribution board instead of the power breakout cable which would run around $30. And that does not include a decent, basic 9 channel transmitter which would run at least $50 (with receiver) and a charger for the battery which would cost additional money as well. "Cheaping out" on a 6 channel radio transmitter will in the long run be a waste of time and money as 6 channels will limit you as to flight controller selection and additional add on accessories that require additional channel assignments to the basic 4 channels needed for flight control. The basic boards that offer self leveling require a fifth channel for self leveling. More powerful boards with all the fancy GPS, BAR, RTH, etc. require even more channels generally or need to be programmed into/assigned to transmitter functions. To really be successful with a multi rotor build it would be to your advantage to explore builds at rcgroups.com or multirotorforums.com or oddcopter.com. There are numerous build guides at these sites with many experienced builders who can help guide you in your build. Building a quad is definitely within your abilities, but it takes a lot of research; a lot of research trust me on this. Flying a quad helped me better understand my building and building my quad helped me better understand my flying. Good luck.
