I am studying for My P107 test, in fact I will be scheduling my test the first weekday I have off. I have completed 2 courses I found on my favorite resource; YouTube. I am not really reviewing the content of the courses, but how they presented the information and how they explained concepts unfamiliar to those of us with no real aviation experience except for flying UAVs. As with any review my conclusions are subjective and I am looking at them from a novice point of view.
    The Course I Didn't Like:
    Udemy:
I am in my 60s and have an AA in Digital Electronics (not used in 18 years) and have worked for high tech companies with the expected interminable meetings. The most common teaching method in most of my classes and meetings were that the class was given handouts and then the instructors will read the handout to you. I found this method excruciatingly boring, annoying and condescending to the point of counter productivity. That's what you get at around 2 hours from Udemy.
Another Aspect I found annoying was that the course did a poor job of explaining unfamiliar concepts. They would ask sample questions at the end of a section and expect conclusions on specifics they didn't even explain. The illustrations on sectional maps that they did use would not allow the user to zoom in even a little to help find obscure locations.
Finally throughout the whole presentation you never see a live human. The reason this course was free was so that they could sell you courses on related subjects.

    The Course I did Like:
    From Tony and Chelsea Northrup,
This presentation was pretty much the opposite of Udemy's. Tony is at the desk with a nice display screen with graphics that he uses to accentuate the information and clearly explains unfamiliar concepts. He does a great job of guiding you through the intricacies of sectional maps and all the other subjects to be tested on. I found it informative , interesting and easier to understand.
I will be using this course for my final study sessions.

I am wondering about 1 thing, Tony says that the testers will give out a card or sheet that defines each symbol used on a sectional map, and Udemy never mentions that. So, what's true?
