I am looking for a beginner drone for my son who is 15. I have looked at the Syma x8c and the jjrc x1. I would like a camera on it. Is there any suggestions or advice i can get? I would like to stay around the 100.00 range if possible. Would like to see if he likes it before investing a lot into one.
    Thanks

Neither of those are good for beginners. Get something small and light to learn on, as he will be crashing a lot.

I learned to fly on the Syma X5C. I crashed... a lot... and it keeps on going. It has a camera mounted on it, but don't get caught up in aerial photography until he's learned to fly. You can grab the quad and some extra batteries for under $75 on Amazon.

Rather old tech. This would be my choice, a very docile and smooth flyer in low rate, but it can cranked up for some very aggressive sporty flying that the X5 can't do. Seems quite robust too. :)

UDI 818A is really stable also. You can find them for about $60 with a camera. If he wants to fly inside also (learn in the basement, etc), then perhaps step down in side to the Hubsan Quads 107 or 108 or Syma X11.

Realistically, the camera is not important for a first drone since he will be learning and crashing more than taking aerial photos.
