Hello: Everybody I Was Just Wondering If Any People Who Makes These Things Have One That Will Back Track Itself In The Go Home Mode. It Would Be Great Thing If You Lose Sight Of It.
Do you mean follow the exact same flight path it used to get there (lost)? or do you mean the normal Return to Home? The units which do RTH are operating under the assumption that the battery may be low and that they should get home in the "average" best way. Other units may be programmable to follow the same way they went...on the way back. Each unit works a little differently. I've had my Phantom 1 for over a year and never used RTH....the instructions said it's not a good idea to test it - so I never have. On the Blade 350QX, RTH works in a way I like a little better. There is a paddle switch that you hold forward...and as long as you hold it forward, the quad starts it's journey back to you...but as soon as you release it, it hovers where it is. This allows you to easily get it back within sight and control distance and then use it manually. The other units can do the same thing, but it's not as good as an interface, IMHO.
The 3DR's can make way points during their journey, then follow those back.......its not a simple click and done, but with a ground station (lap top) it can be done
Thank You Webman Why I Asked Is That I Have Been Reading All About These And The Go Home Will Only Make A Streight Line Back Home At 60 Feet (I think). If You Have A Tree Or Something Higher Than That, Well Everything Goes Boom (he he).
I think you can set this in the various models or at least it takes into account where you were.... http://wiki.dji.com/en/index.php/Naza-M_Enhanced_Failsafe In that example, if the quad is 200 feet high it will come back to you at 200 feet. The 20 meters is only what it will rise to IF it is lower when the return to home is engaged.
