Greetings: I'm a 70 year old "kid" having just "graduated" from RC "bashing" in the dirt to "flying with the eagles" in the sky. I "soloed" less than 30 days ago with my first drone, a Holy Stone H150 "racing drone". Just last weekend I took delivery of a brand new Hubsan Quads 4x H501S "Standard". Having a problem with losing lock between transmitter and aircraft starting at about 75 feet distance. Drone flies out or up to between 75 and 100 feet, loses connection, and goes into fail-safe mode! Help!! Any suggestions?

I don't fly this model, but the one I use has a "beginner mode" that restricts how far and high you can go. It's a software switch on my TX. Maybe you have similar?
But, this doesn't explain the fly away part -- just a thought. Usually, beginner problems are in the software setup zone. Good luck.

Thank you, Eric- Wish I'd gotten this sooner. I've since sent that one plus another Hubsan Quads 501s that the transmitter didn't work at all. Tried a Contixo F18 and had to send that back after an unexpected drop out of the sky into a lake 15 feet off the beach after transmitter glitch. Contixo service gets 5-stars, Though. Excellent communications and response to the issue.

Seriously considering increasing my budget for a DJI Phantom 3 2.7 Standard. What are you flying? Bruce
