Hey Guys, I am fairly new to flying a drone and I would like to get a drone that isn't too big that I can fly indoors and out that I can learn on. I have a Spektrum Dx6i. So far I haven't had much luck with drones. I had a small Hubsan Quads, a Blade Nano and a Dromida. All of the drones either broke when crashing or the motors crapped out. They just don't seem to last. I don't mind paying a few extras bucks for a quality drone. Does anyone know of a drone that can put up with a few crashes and has motors that last more than a few days? Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you, Glenn
Hmmm... doesn't show it being run over by a car, but has a lot of potential. Thank you RGJameson! Glenn
Looks to be! How long do you think the motors should last typically on quadcopters like this assuming they aren't abused? Glenn
If they are brushed (and they seem to be), it's usually not too long! The one I suggested uses brushless which should effectively last just about forever (in terms of the way you would use these machines). In my experienced, brushed motors (and gears) last somewhere from 2 to 5 hours of flight before having to be replaced.
Wow! 2-5 hours. I don't think that many people realize that. That isn't much time before one has to fork out to replace motors. I guess the experience I have had with quadcopters is pretty typical then Webman. Had no idea the motors had such poor longevity. Just curious, do ANY of the smaller quadcopters suitable for indoor use use brushless motors? Thanks for the info! Glenn
