Was notified of deal by B&H of open box for $600 so its on its way to my door. Now have to research what tablet to best pair with. Looks like the 3 will soon be off the retailers shelves

I don't think it will be discontinued since there is nothing to replace it....maybe at NAB they will announce something.
It's still the best deal for the money - by far - for most (compared to P4 and most others).

Maybe they will slim the line down to P3S and P3P - $399 and $799 and then intro some new upscale stuff. But DJI likes having something in every price range.

It just makes retail sense to try and cover as much of the field as one can economically.

I personally like e bay for buying drones, however if you go on craigslist, used Phantoms are for sale everywhere for a good deal. Typically if they won't let you try them before you buy them or they won't show you that they fly fine, they are junk. So be careful...

Almost a 200 mile jaunt for me to get to a metro area that has any amount of UAVs. Ebay with paypal has the buyer pretty well protected. Had an issue buying HID upgrade from a vendor and after no response within the sites time frame was refunded. But I have never been a problem buyer or repeat returner etc. The site looks at both parties.
CL can be a great place but always deal in person. Would love to check out a hexcopter that has over 500bucks in just batteries for 1k

Hexcopters having 6 blades will naturally drain batteries faster than qauds. I've done literally tons of research on drones and theirs nothing quite like what your looking for to my knowledge. Have you considered looking into octocopters.

    DJI f550.
I watched as a friend take a octocopter up against my judgement last week and he tombstoned it when the thing was going out of control in the gusty winds. He's a electrical engineer retired so has the time to put one together. Broke two arms.

My brother made a battery modification on a Dromida ominus. After he did it stayed in the sky for 20+ mins. It was only 50 bucks so way below your price range. However if they made a seriously upgraded one of this, it would be a nice drone for you. o_O

Please, no affiliate links and/or just arbitrary postings.
This particular thread was about a deal on Phantoms - a deal, BTW, this is not affiliate (we don't make a penny if you buy that deal)....

The Phantom 3 deal is gone. Hopefully mine will be in the garage tonight. Have to go burn some prairie to pay for some accessories.
