Hello. My name is jason. I live in southwest florida. Im just getting into this hobby. I had a tyco rc turbo bandit back in the early 90's but thats about as far as my experience goes. My wife hooked me up with the aee toruk ap10 for christmas after i mentioned an interest in flying rc drones or quads. So im here just looking to learn about the hobby so i can have fun and not destroy as much as possible.

Hi all, we are very new to the industry as well but see a whole lot of potential for the technology to be used in an amazing assortment of ways. We are a group of entrepreneurs, hackers, and enthusiasts looking to make the drone industry surge ahead. With so much push back we are wondering if anyone out there would use a software that allowed for the easy completion of section 333, and simple registration for hobby drones weighing 0.5-50lbs, think QuickBooks for drone regulation. Looking for any feedback available, or if you are someone who wants to help, please let us know.

Hey all. Haven't played with anything RC since I was probably 10 years old. Just bought myself a quad copter after playing with a buddies. Hope to make some cool little videos and have some fun. Joined to try and learn some stuff and find out what some of the better entry level gear is (cameras, quads, hex etc)

Sounds fascinating. Do you have some concern that the FAA might change the 333 exemption this year?

Everything I've heard is that the 333 paperwork is complicated and some are going to lawyers for help. If you could make this an easier, smoother process (e.g. TurboTax step-by-step walking you thru the process), that would be fantastic. Of course, as of now there's still that pesky requirement for at least a sport pilot's license, which adds quite a bit of time and many thousands of dollars to the startup should you want to go commercial.

    Where in SW Florida?

I do some flying around Sarasota in the winter. See my little video...from last winter.

The problem is probably going to be that the regs are in flux and likely to change quite a bit - soon and perhaps often.
So spending time on the current set may not have the payback....just IMHO.

Hi everyone. My name's Mark, I'm from Bristol UK.
I have had very little experience with quadcopters until this week! I've had some RC cars when I was younger and a little RC chopper last year but nothing like the Phantom 2 I bought recently.

I've been doing a lot of video watching and research on the DJI range and accessories but I really am new to it all. I have a GoPro H3+ that I got for christmas so I'm looking forward to some flying and filming :)

Hi, my name is Herb and I live in Central New York State where the weather is brutal right now. I've flown heli's and fixed wing aircraft for lots of years. Last June I obtained a Phantom Vision 2 Plus and got kind of use to it over the next few months. Even flew it twice "FPV" with a set of FatShark goggles. I have a ton of stuff to learn about flying quads so that's the reason I'm here. I hope to learn more about my DJI and pick up good advise along the way. I belong to a flying club that owns 42 acres of land and we have a great flying field. The name of our club is STARS (Syracuse Thunderbirds Aero Radio Society). I hope to meet some real nice people on this forum. Thanks for letting me join in.

Hello. Totally new to drones. I work in. Some beautiful places around the island of Scotland so a drones provides some cracking footage. I have a v303 seeker, been very easy to use until recently. Only two rotors spin at full power. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello.

My first drone is a wltoys v303.
I'm happy with it for the price, does what I want it to do.
I've attached a Cisco flip video camera, does well.
I'm not happy with the amount of info on this model though.
I work all over the coast and islands of Scotland so the footage I get is great.

I am new to RC and photography, and am in my 60s. Out of curiosity I began watching drone footage on YouTube and decided I wanted to try it. I did a lot of research and tried the advice many people gave about starting out with cheap quads to learn how to fly. The problems I had with that was that I had a difficult time with altitude control and orientation. So I took a chance and bought a Chroma, and I wish I had done that first. Sure, I have to confess that I crashed it 3 times, and I had to replace the body after the last one. At least I know I can fix my screw-ups and I know how it's put together. The beauty of the Chroma is that it allows you to learn how to gain skills with a platform that has precise altitude control that enables you to learn how to maneuver at your own pace. I still have questions and bugs to work on, but that is for another post.
Thanks for your time and am looking forward to being a part of the RC community.

That's what practice is for, and as we age it's quite important to work hard at maintaining good eye hand coordination. A toy quadcopter is the perfect tool. Rome wasn't built in a day. :)

Good luck in your journey and Welcome to the forum. (BTW I'm 64)

I'm doing a lot better with the Chroma. Right now I'm struggling with camera settings. I can take great stills but I can't seem to get the crisp and clear videos I see with other footage. I will work on it and continue to learn.

I'm Josh. I've been flying anything I can get my hands on for the last 15 years. During the day, I work on http://Kittyhawk.io -- a drone management platform. I look forward to helping and interacting here.
