Beginner here. Just got a a Syma X5c. It worked at first, I played around for about 3 or 4 minutes, and then it stopped. I recharged the battery, and now it won't work. When I turn it on, the lights do not flash, and it won't sync with the remote. Checked the voltage on the battery, and it is right at 4.2 volts. The light in the camera comes on and turns green, but the drone lights do not flash. They did flash the first time I turned it on, and it did sync, and I did fly it a little, but now I get nothing. Tried unplugging the camera, but no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been Googling this for hours with no luck.
Hi, Tim. I have a Zuzo FX1 Quadcopter which is a clone of the Syma X5c. I am having the exact same issue as you had. Flew it indoors to get it trimmed out, and after about 8 minutes it lost power and the battery died. Recharged it overnight, and plugged it in, and nothing. No LED lights come on at all. Only the camera powers up. Did you find a solution?
I have a six battery pack with charger arriving tomorrow. Hopefully this resolves the issue. Thanks for the response, T.C. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Strange that it appears to still have power to the camera... have you tried using the camera at its current state? I'd say if the camera is indeed getting power from the battery, that you definitely have a short somewhere in the quad. I'd suspect the main board has a loose wire somewhere or maybe is bad, but that doesn't explain your camera getting power. I'm not sure what your options are, but I'd try a return to seller, replace the battery, and then maybe opening that bad boy up to see if there is anything obvious (in that order). Not sure what your repair skill level is on miniaturized electronic components, but you may have yourself a brand new paperweight.
