Hi, this is my first post on the forum. I'm looking for my first FPV Quadcopter, but there's so much choice and I have no idea where to start or what to look for so any advise on what's a good starter would be appreciated, either a kit or ready to fly out of the box. What I want is an FPV quad, with relatively good camera/picture/screen quality, that's real time or close enough, that's easy enough to fly for me. I was looking to spend max about £150, ($225). Anything else I should be looking for as well? Please let me know what you think would be a good choice for me. Thanks!
With quads, none, I've flown a few helicopters before, but they were more like toys really. I'm leaning towards getting the Walkera runner 250, the RTF Basic 3 package which comes with DEVO-7 radio/camera/OSD/battery/charger included. And buying the Quanum V2 goggles, so I "THINK" the only other thing i need is a video receiver for the goggles. Any recommendations on a good video reciever? (The Walkera transmitter and F7 radio have a range of 1-1.5km so I'd want a good quality video reciever that has a similar range.
That has been plagued with various problems, the 'flip of death' and the thin bottom rails that crack rather easily. I have read a bit about the flip of death, I kinda assumed it was just people expecting it to be indestructible for the price, whereas you wouldn't expect such quality from a less expensive model. But if they're so prone to breaking maybe I should look for something else. The Eachine 250 looks to be a copy of the Walkera runner 250. (But a bargain I suppose as it comes with an FPV radio with LCD screen). It does have some good reviews on the site, but little info about it (like what kind of range the radio and receiver/transmitter has). And is the Eachine much stronger then? (Less prone to breaking?)
No quad should all of a sudden decide to flip over like they have been known to do. I don't know why you say that. The Runner looks like a Tarot copy. Hopefully the radio is just a rebranded Flysky FS-i6 which I own and like. It's compact size and very feature rich. HobbyKing has their rebranded one, the Turnigy TGY-i6. Their PPM/Ibus rx has great range, well over 1KM. But they may be using the smaller standard RX which has less. With this one I like that the battery can be put on the top if wanted as an 1800mAh battery could then be used for some longer flight time fun flying. Again lots of vids on Youtube. Good luck.
Your right they don't look that alike now I look at them again, but I mean the racer is like a competitor for the runner
Mmm, the eturbine looks pretty good actually, 1km range it says. (Found out the Eachine runner only has 300m range) I'd just need a 5.8ghz video receiver with a 1km+ range then? And screen/goggles?
Maybe Id be better buying all the bits separately, like the better radio, cameras and transmitters from Walkera or wherever, and buy a craft like the racer or eturbine without cameras/transmitters etc.
