Remote controller voltages

    I just received my first drone flyer, Holy Stone Mini RC Drone 4 CH 6-Axis 2.4 GHz Gyro RC Quadcopter. It came with extra propellers for the inevitable crash and burn session.<grin> Looking forward to learning to fly!

    I got myself extra lipo batteries, so no problem there. However the remote controller requires 4 alkaline batteries. I bought some duracell NiMH rechargeable batteries to use there.

    I believe that these NiMH batteries use 1.7 volts and I was wondering if I could use 14500 lithium Ion batteries. These batteries use 3.7 volts. Could using the lithium Ion batteries burn up the controller?

    Another potential issue is the diameter of the batteries. I have not measured them, but some folks say that the lithium Ion batteries are a little wider...

    Use the batteries the manufacture recommends, if it is 4 AA size use them (there is no problem using the rechargeable AA size so they can be used)
