I have a cheap drone now, but want a nicer model. I like photography, and video (but no a pro), just want some cool pics/video.

    Here is what I'm thinking:
    DJI Phantom 3 (standard) OR
    Parrot Bebop 2 with skycontroller

Maybe a used phantom 3 Advanced or pro if I can find one.

    Basically a $450ish budget.

Can the apps follow something automatically (like a rabbit or bird)
Will it fly into a tree following it?

    please enlighten me..

    Thanks

Rabbit or bird is too small to track - AND, none of the models listed have that capability anyway.

DJI calls it "activetrack" and you will find it in their Phantom 4, Mavic and Spark models.

My advice would be against the Parrot. They have proven less than reliable over the years....sure, it may work, but I don't think it is worth your very hard earned money.

So, that takes us to various options:
    1. Phantom 3 Standard Refurb - Direct from DJI here at $399 or so - https://goo.gl/NWwMpH
you can prob find a slightly used 2nd battery for $50 on eBay or something.

    2. Save up more money for an Advanced or Pro (sometimes the Pro is cheaper than the advanced).
Refurbs are OK.....fully warranted. A lot of deals are listed at http://www.dronesavings.com

For example, you can follow one there to a Phantom 3 Pro for $549 refurb - but you still need a case and at least a 2nd battery.

A last option is to look around local or further for a used unit. I have sold a number of my Phantoms and they were perfect - very low hours on them (like 10 hours on some). But you might not be able to beat those refurb prices when you consider the warranty.

The $399 Standard is hard to beat with a full year warranty! But you can spend more and get more in the other models.
