I am getting a drone. I got one at the holidays, and I returned 3 of them for defects. I just want other people's opinions on if I should get another toy grade, or spend a little extra and get a DJI refurbished DJI Phantom 3 standard. That would be best for me, but it would be harder for me mentally if I broke it. That's the thing. It's harder to break a phantom than a toy. I can't find a nice toy grade that could carry a decent camera that has everything I want. I have over 8 months experience with drones, so I know what I'm doing to some degree. I feel like the phantom is easier to learn on, but when you're learning, you might crash. I would just like some more input on the subject. The phantom would last me a lot longer too, and there are so many mods/accessories for it too.

If you are careful you will not crash....I've flown 5 different Phantoms for 3 years and never had a crash that damaged anything. Real the manual and make your first flights in a large open field.
If you are a very tight budget there are some good deals on refurb DJI drones - $330 - $570..... look at dronesavings.com for some links.

ABSOLUTELY get it! Those cheap toy drones don't do drones any justice. Don't worry about crashing either, if you do, it will be fine, they are tough devices. As long as you aren't recklessly flying it, and based upon this post you don't seem like the type, then you will be fine. DO IT!

Great!!! You can buy it. If you have eight-month experience so, don’t worry to crash, it will be okay.
