Hey guys i have been wanting to get into drones for a long time now but haven't had the wallet for it.

Luckly this year taxes were very kind to me so this is the time to jump in. I have been doing a lot of research and have narrowed it down to a few choice.

I really like the go pro karma and heard it will be back soon but the recall scares me a little but that's the one I really want.

It give me the excuse get get the go pro i have always wanted and it comes with the karma grip that I would also use a lot.

The other ones I'm considering is the dji p3p the Mavic and the autel x-star premium.

I just wanted to get everyone opinion on what you guys think of these drones.

    Thanks guys

All of those are great drones - so much better than the stuff from 2 years back it's almost a miracle.

I can tell you my opinion from having owned a couple dozen drones. When it comes to a "camera drone" there is nothing like the Mavic Pro. Period.
This does not mean everyone should buy one. Lots of folks would suggest that you start with a couple cheapos just to learn how to fly. But if you are really careful and read the manual well - and listen to ALL advice (fly only in big open areas until you are familiar, etc.), you can start with the Phantoms or X-Star.

The reason the Mavic is now #1 in my eyes (in the 1K range) is portability, portability, portability. I love my Phantom 4 but I really do think I am going to sell it (I have a Mavic Pro also). The reason is...I'm not a pro and I don't need more than one camera drone. I might as well then have one that is easy to travel with - whether flying, driving, walking or on my bike or boat.
