Hey hows everybody's weekend going? This is my first post and I am a complete noob. I am trying to get into drones for a business (secret for now) and have thousands of questions but instead of asking here I'd like to learn them myself. I am interested in learning how to operate a drone proficiently and also learn how to do the maintenance/repair of them. I am an aircraft technician so hopefully they are not too hard to learn. So I'd like to ask, Where can I find the best learning material for drones? Are there any good books, Any online or in person courses on both flying or maintenance? Any magazines to subscribe to for the newest in drone news and products?
Your best bet to start are our free eBooks.....as well as some articles. But start here: https://www.droneflyers.com/free-dji-phantom-3-4-ebook/
Thanks for that link, I'll start reading it tonight. Is there much of a difference in learning about hobby vs commercial drones? I am looking into more of a cargo type drone more than photography.
If you are looking at winged drones (planes), there is a pretty big difference. If you are looking at heavy lift multi-rotors, then most of the material would still be useful in terms of a foundation (of learning).
When I was starting out I used YouTube and still do. You can find comprehensive reviews on all models. Since I already have a P4 I am not up on the latest models, but that Mavic looks pretty nice.
Welcome to the forum! If you want to learn about drones in general and what makes a drone good, then you need to read this article right here, And when you are ready to build your own here is a step by step guide on building your own drone. Good luck and have fun!
