Where can I find a book that explains the workings of drones? I understand the basics. I know how to fly them. I have an H107D, x5c-1, and a DJI P2V+. I've been a pilot for decades, I have an A&P, and I have some AE degrees. I want to know enough so I can work on them and build them. I want to know things like specs and compatibilities of transmitters, receivers, FPV equipment, ESCs, motors, basic programming, etc. I can identify the parts inside the P2V+, for example, but I need to know exactly how they relate and how to upgrade various parts. I want to know all the stuff I would need to build an FPV drone and how to build it and then set it up. I feel like I am a kid who has a new Dodge Challenger, knows how to drive it, wants to hop it up, but can't tell a muffler from a catalytic converter. Are there any books out there like that can take someone from newbie status to "intermediate" status?
Things change so rapidly, online is best. They got lot's of good reading right here. https://www.droneflyers.com/beginners-guidelinks/ Good blog. http://blog.oscarliang.net/ Probably the best YouTube source. https://www.youtube.com/user/Painless360
We publish a beginners book- and I update it every couple of months so it's not behind the times. It is available as a ebook or paperback at this link: http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Started-Hobby-Quadcopters-Drones-ebook/dp/B00DBJQKD8 It's a good overview of the history and the entire hobby.
