Hi all. I am very new to drones and was wondering if anyone had an idea if this kind of project is possible. I travel a lot and want to be able to keep a mobile eye on my property and home. So, I was wondering if it would be possible to: 1) Have a drone that could take off, land, and be controlled via phone or tablet app 2) Have a drone with live video streaming that would be accessible from a similar kind of app Basically if I am away from home and see something amiss on my security system or video surveillance, can I fire up a drone that will broadcast live video to my phone or PC? Thanks for your thoughts!
Realistically, this type of application is not yet mature. It could be done as a demonstration, but to be useful it would need all kinds of various testing. You can be sure it's being worked on though. Someone I had lunch with yesterday actually mentioned almost this exact use - that is, as a sentinel which may come out when alerted by other parts of the home security system.
